Science Experiment Capillary Action

This week room 10 made Wicking Water on Thursday. We placed 6 cups on each table. Folded paper towels  and bent them into the cups. then we put food coloring into the cups and we watched the  water climb up slowly and go down slowly.We left it there over night and when we got back the colors had merged in the empty cups, so the red and yellow made orange, the red and blue made purple, yellow and blue made green The science word for what happened is called Capilary action!
